Launching on Product Hunt — love it or hate it

Product Hunt is described as a place to discover and launch the next big thing in tech. Everybody loves it and hates at the same time. When your launch is successful it gives you lots of advantages — from traffic to your webpage and new users to wider publicity, and high media coverage. But when something goes wrong your product stays at the bottom of the day list and your efforts and sleepless nights were useless.

Let’s be honest — to do a successful launch on the Product Hunt is definitely not a walk in the park.

🔸 So what are the first steps you need to take before even thinking about launching on the Product Hunt?
🔸 What do you need to prepare for the day of the launch?
🔸 How to use your contact list in the most effective way?
🔸 Why direct upvotes may not work now and what are the ways of fixing this?
🔸 Was there any difference between launching before the quarantine (when the world was pretty much normal) and now (when the world is still figuring out its way further)?
🔸 After-launch plan — should you have it or not?

We’ve invited to the conversation Katheriin Liibert, Head of Marketing at Outfunnel and Stacy Pavlyshyna, co-founder of Awesomic (also known as Pizdata Inc) and will talk about their experience of launching on Product Hunt — Stacy launched her product back in December 2019 together with her team while Katheriin has recent experience of launching just weeks ago.

This event will be relevant to anyone who:

✔️ is planning to launch within the next 1-12 months
✔️ is responsible for marketing at a startup, as a lot of the “products” on product hunt are actually “engineering as marketing” or collateral materials designed to get attention.

Speakers:

🎤 Katheriin Liibert — Head of Marketing at Outfunnelel. She joined the team recently and launching Outfunnel on Product Hunt was one of her first projects, and they ended up as #2 product of the day on July 6th. Previously, Katheriin has worked in Product and Marketing roles at a few Estonian startups and launched #muhoov, a clothing brand for showing off love for your hood.
🎤 Stacy Pavlyshyna — co-founder of Awesomic (also known as Pizdata Inc), previously CMO with 8+ years in digital marketing. After launching on Product Hunt with 800+ upvotes, Awesomic grew 3 times in clients, tested a new pricing model, and achieved profitability.
